As the title blog suggests, I love writing and I love dragons.
I've been writing most of my life, but I didn't develop a love for it until high school. My writing journey (gosh that sounds cliche) has brought me to many places. I spent ten years as a journalist (college and professional) where I covered a plethora of topics. I've had the opportunity to tell numerous people's stories, but I soon grew out of love with it for numerous reasons ... and by "grew out of it" I mean I got bitter and angry. My quality of work suffered for it.
Let's just say a combination of being stiffed on a paycheck (thanks B***) and my work not really being mine but the town's (thank you Ritzville) propelled me into writing fiction sooner than I'd anticipated. At the same time, I'd return to tabletop roleplaying games (TTRPGs), something I hadn't been into since before college.
My bitterness toward journalism, my push toward fantasy fiction, and my rediscovered love for TTRPGs gave me a new direction.
This is where the "Dragons" portion of "Words and Dragons" comes in. I love writing about dragons and other fantasy characters, especially if I make them heroes. I still use some of my journalism experience - I even wrote a chapter of my fantasy novel where the characters were in a Town Council meeting. I've even had some stories published in a couple of anthologies.
While I've dabbled in fantasy, I've mainly put my focus into writing TTRPG content. Three years after I got back into TTRPGs, I published my first D&D 5e one-shot adventure. Since then my catalog, which is all on DMs Guild, has included encounter compilations, more one-shots, and NPCs.
I've created numerous blogs and portfolio websites over the years but really haven't kept up with them. Here's hoping I break the streak.
I'd like for you to get to know me and follow me on this journey. Here are some links to my social media.
